Emblemer bug? - Guild Wars Forums

Hi guys.

A couple of friends and I finally managed to scrape together the 2k gold necessary for a guild emblem design. We finally decided on a suitable name and cloak, so it was time to get them made. I accepted the cloak design and it seemed to be all fine and dandy, but when my invites were accepted by my friends, their cloaks were rearranged somehow. What's odd is that both friend A and friend B had the same cloak design (which was different to my own intended design), yet friend A reported that he was having the same problem: his cloak was as I had intended, but from his perspective, friend B's and my own cloak were changed in the same way as I had described. Same colour palette, different symbol and pattern.

I first tried logging out and back in again, and discovered that my cloak was now the same as my friends in the newly formed guild. Likewise for my friends when they logged out and in again.

So what's going on here? Did GW decide that somebody else had beaten me to my design or maybe I'd chosen an incompatible combination of colours, pattern and emblem? Or something else?

We are trying to scrounge enough cash together again for another shot at it, are we wasting our time and our gold, here?

I get the same thing, but for us it goes away after zoning. When I look on my other PC my cloak is sometimes different then what I see on my screen as well. But for the most part, they are all the same.

I don't think the game would prevent you from having duplicate cape designs. It probably is a bug. Sometimes my cape would only display the correct graphic on the lower left corner on the cape while the rest of the cape is blank, which would be corrected once I zoned out. But I have never seen the emblem changed. Have you checked with your friends to make sure none of them actually changed the design?

I wouldn't need to check. We all agreed on a design, they handed me the additional necessary cash, I purchased the design. Neither one of us had enough cash to purchase a cloak on our own, so it couldn't have been changed that way. Not to mention that the effect was basically instantaneous upon purchase. I have since logged in again and the cloak remains in its changed state.

What do you think guys, should we try for the original design again and hope it works this time around?

The pursuit of 2k gold gives our young guild a common goal, at least.
